Maya Angelou
THE VISION
What Will I Create While the World Is on Fire? is more than an album. It’s a cultural archive, a creative revolt, and a call to reimagine. Born from my own grief, resistance, and radical creativity, this 11-track visual project blends R&B, soul, vulnerability, and protest to honor Black history and build a liberated future. It is 90 percent complete and entirely self-written, self-produced, self-mixed, and self-mastered. With interludes from radical thinkers and artists I’ve turned to for guidance like Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, Nina Simone, and Malcolm X, this project stands as a blueprint for how we speak, heal, educate, and create in dangerous times.
Through crowdfunding and grant support, the goal is to bring the final 10 percent to life: finalizing the music, completing the visuals, and building the innovative creative ecosystem this work was always meant to spark.
THE VOICE
Orlando Dixon is a multifaceted artist, producer, and creative director with Billboard-charting credits, 120M+ streams, and a decade-spanning career that bridges music, activism, and storytelling. A former Walt Disney Records artist, his work has appeared on Disney+, The Tonight Show, and campaigns for Roland, Office Depot, and more. With collaborations from Doja Cat to Jason Derulo, and deep roots in education and live performance, Orlando now leads a mission-driven creative ecosystem.
This visual album is the spark that sets it all in motion.

“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
Malcolm X
PHASE ONE GOAL
Turning Vision into Action
I’m raising $25,000 to bring the first phase of this radical project to life.
This includes:
• A full visual album (11 performance + narrative videos)
• A short film (Creating Out of Necessity)
• An educational curriculum built around the album’s themes (The Role of the Artist)
• Marketing, clearances and outreach to get this in front of the people who need it
This is more than a creative release;
it’s a cultural offering, an act of resistance, and a toolkit for truth-telling.
Who is This For?
Black folks, queer folks, radical creatives, artists, intellectuals, historians, educators, students, and anyone reimagining what’s possible in the revolution.
If you’ve ever turned your pain into purpose or your silence into a sound, this is for you.
“The function of freedom is to free someone else.”
Toni Morrison
